Las Campanas-The
upscale Las Campanas residential enclave just north of Santa Fe
features two Jack Nicklaus-designed, private, 18-hole courses,
open from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week. Residents and
their guests may reserve tee times as much as one week in advance.
Services include three practice greens and bunkers, a driving
range, instruction, and a full restaurant and deli. Electric carts

in 1998, features both an 18-hole and a 9-hole course, open every
day year-round. Tee times may be reserved as much as one week
in advance. Services include two putting and pitching greens,
a practice sandbunker, a driving range, a pro shop, instruction,
and a restaurant and food-and-beverage cart on the course. Fees:
18-hole course: non-residents $49, New Mexico residents $29, Santa

Pueblo de Cochiti-This
18-hole Robert Trent Jones Jr.-designed public course, on Cochiti
Indian Reservation land, opened in the early 1980s. It is open
from dawn to dusk every day year-round. Tee times may be reserved
as much as one week in advance. Services include a clubhouse,
a driving range, a short practice area, and a snack bar and beer.
Fees: $25 weekdays, $32 weekends (reduced November-March);
cart rental: $11 for gas-powered, $5 for pull carts; golf club
rental $15 or $30. MasterCard, Visa and Discover cards accepted.

Quail Run-This
private, nine-hole course, close to downtown Santa Fe, is located
within the Quail Run residential enclave, and is open to members
and their guests, as well as members of some country clubs outside
the Santa Fe area. It is open March through November, from 7 a.m.
till 7 p.m. May through September, and 8 a.m. till 6 p.m. March,
April, October and November. Tee times may be reserved as much
as one week in advance. Services include a putting and chipping
green, a short game teaching area, and a restaurant in the clubhouse.
Fees: $30 for 9 holes, $60 for 18 holes (includes an electric

Santa Fe Country
Club-This semi-private 18-hole facility is Santa Fe's oldest
golf course, having opened more than half a century ago. It is
open all year except in January, from dawn to dusk. Mondays are
reserved for tournament play only. Tee times can be reserved as
much as one week in advance. Services include a driving range,
a short game practice area, a putting green and a snack bar, grill
and on-course food cart. The restaurant is for country club members

Angel Fire Country
Club-This semi-private 18-hole course is in the village of
Angel Fire, a few miles east of Taos. It is open June through
October, seven days a week, from 6:30 a.m. till 6 p.m. Tee times
can be reserved as much as two weeks in advance. Services include
two putting and pitching greens, a practice sand bunker, a driving
range, instruction, a restaurant, a snack bar, a full bar and
an on-course food cart. Fees: Monday-Thursday, $50, Friday-Sunday

18-hole public course is located in the village of Red River,
north of Taos. It is open from April 15 through October 15, from

Golf Course-This semi-private, 9-hole course near Taos is
more than half a century old. It is open from Memorial Day to
Labor Day, seven days a week, from 7 a.m. till dusk. Services
include a driving net, a snack shop and a full bar. Fees: $15
per day for unlimited play, $5 per day for unlimited play for
golfers less than 16 years old, $200 for a yearly membership;
cart rental: $3 per day for pull cart; golf club rental: $3 per

New Mexico Highlands-This
9-hole course, which dates from the early 1960s, was designed
by Thomas C. Donnelly, a former president of New Mexico Highlands
University in Las Vegas. It is open seven days a week, from dawn
till dusk. Tee times can be reserved two days in advance. Services
include a putting green, a pitching green, a sand bunker, a driving
range, a pro shop and instruction. The only refreshments come
from vending machines. Fees: Weekdays: $9 for 9 holes,
$14 for 18 holes; students, $4 for 9 holes, $6 for 18 holes; seniors
55 and older, $6.50 for 9 holes, $8.50 for 18 holes. Weekends
and holidays: $12 for 9 holes, $16 for 18 holes; students, $5
for 9 holes, $8 for 18 holes; seniors 55 and older, $8.50 for

Whispering Pines
at Pendaries-This 18-hole public course is located in the
Pendaries resort outside the village of Rociada, near Las Vegas.
It opened in the early 1970s, and now is open from 7 a.m. till
sundown, April 15 through October 15. Services include a putting
green, a pitching green, a driving range, a pro shop, instruction,
a restaurant, a snack shop, a full bar and an on-course food cart.
Fees: $32, Monday-Thursday for 18 holes, $40, Friday-Sunday
and holidays for 18 holes; $18-$22 for 9 holes; $25 for "twilight
golf," Monday-Thursday after 2:30 p.m. (cart included); electric
